Secreted proteins are proteins that are synthesized in cells and then secreted to function outside the cell. They play an important role in the manipulation of host cells and virulence of many eukaryotic protozoan parasites. Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei(EHP) is an obligate intracellular parasite that can infect a variety of economic shrimps, and is one of the most serious diseases affecting global shrimp production in recent years. In this study, we predicted the secreted proteins of the EHP genome with EuSecPred1.0 pipeline, and then analyzed of the length of these secreted proteins, the length of the signal peptide, the amino acid distribution at the cleavage site, etc, annotating the function of secreted proteins. The results showed that the length of secreted proteins mainly ranged from 30 to 400 amino acid residus, the signal peptides covered about 9~32 amino acids, and the cleavage sites of signal peptides were mainly composed of hydrophobic amino acid. Motif analysis revealed a motif in signal peptides NV[VT][IK]CA[ED][SA]. Functional annotation of proteins that we obtained revealed that a variety of key proteins involved in adhesion and infection of microsporidia, regulation of cell cycle and immune response. The results are helpful to understand the infection mechanism of EHP to the host and provide theoretical basis for further defining the pathogenic factors of EHP.
